Submission Modalities
Who can submit which works?
- Students: You can submit works from the following semesters: WS 23/24, SS 24, WS 24/25, SS 25.
- Alumni: You can submit contributions that you completed as a freelancer or within the framework of a company project in the past two years (from the beginning of November 2023 to the end of October 2025). The prerequisite is that you were prominently involved in the project’s implementation.

How are the nominees chosen?
A preliminary jury consisting of lecturers from the respective subject area select three projects for each category and nominates them for the evening gala.
Limitations to Copyright
Please note that by submitting your contribution, you grant the St. Pölten UAS the non-exclusive right to use the presentation at the media award ceremony, publish it on the websites and social media channels operated by the St. Pölten UAS, and to use it within the framework of c-tv and its social media channels. You thereby assure that the submitted contributions are free from third-party copyrights (or that you have obtained the necessary licences). In this context, you also undertake to indemnify and hold the St. Pölten UAS harmless against any third-party claims.
In the case of film scoring, please make sure to obtain the necessary rights first (except for own production). While the contribution may still be nominated for the Golden Wire, it cannot be published on the website and social media channels of the St. Pölten UAS.
Submission categories
Students can submit works in seven categories – for alumni, there is an additional category called “Alumni Projects”:
ANIMATION
This category celebrates the art and technology of bringing images and objects to life, from traditional hand-drawn animation to cutting-edge CGI and motion design.
Duration: max. 3 minutes
SOUND & MUSIC
Celebrating the art of audio in media, this category recognizes outstanding achievements in sound design, original music composition, and innovative audio productions that enhance storytelling and create immersive experiences.
Duration: max. 3 minutes
SHORT FILM
Honoring exceptional storytelling in cinematic formats under 40 minutes, this category recognizes fictional, experimental, and innovative short films that captivate audiences in limited timeframes.
Duration: max. 3 minutes
DOCUMENTARY & TV-PRODUCTION
This category focuses on factual storytelling across various formats, from investigative journalism to creative documentaries, recognizing excellence in informing, engaging, and inspiring audiences through compelling narratives and innovative approaches.
Duration: max. 3 minutes
INTERACTIVE
Celebrating exceptional interactive experiences, this category honors projects that innovate in user engagement, storytelling, and information presentation across mobile apps, games, websites, and audiovisual installations.
Presentation: max. 3 minutes
CONTENT CREATION & PRODUCTION
Honoring innovative cross-media and transmedia content, this category focuses on projects that push boundaries in storytelling across multiple platforms, showcasing creative concepts and high production values.
Presentation: max. 3 minutes
VISUAL ART & DESIGN
This category recognizes exceptional visual arts and design in media, from experimental digital art and AI-generated visuals to graphic design and projection mapping, highlighting creativity, technical skill, and digital innovation.
Presentation: max. 3 minutes
ALUMNI PROJECTS
Any project is eligible if it fits one of the sevenx categories listed before.
The requirements are the same as for every other category. Three projects are nominated for the Alumni Projects category and will be presented at the Golden Wire media award ceremony at the St. Pölten UAS on 25 November 2025.
Please note: in all categories, the contributions need to meet the duration requirements. If they do not, a random section will be used instead of the full work.
How to submit a contribution
Fill in and submit the online submission form below.
In addition, you have to submit your contributions either by providing a download link (WeTransfer, Dropbox, own server, etc.) or by uploading it to the video storage system. Please note that this is possible only on the St. Pölten UAS premises.

- Upload your project to the video storage system (10.6.0.4) of the St. Pölten UAS under the following path:
a. Windows (Windows Explorer):
