Animated films, motion design in the form of trailers, commercials, opening credits, and TV design. The category focuses on the technology that brings images and objects to life.
The Golden Wire is the media award of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. Students and alumni of the Department of Media and Digital Technologies are invited to submit contributions in different categories.
The next Golden Wire will take place in November 2025.

This year, the Golden Wire is awarded in seven categories:
Animated films, motion design in the form of trailers, commercials, opening credits, and TV design. The category focuses on the technology that brings images and objects to life.
Content creation, cross- and transmedia and digital strategy, multiplatform, cross, trans and social media storytelling, planning and implementation of transmedia contents, social media content, such as videos, photos, posts, and podcasts.
Experimental arts, generative AV projects also with the use of AI, visuals and projection mapping, digital innovation, editorial design, communication design, photography, illustrations, media design and desktop publishing, such as the creation, design and interactive characteristics of electronic media (website and mobile applications), graphic art, print graphic design, as well as the design of classic […]
Audio productions, audio plays, free sound collages, pieces of music composed and produced by the submitters themselves, sound design and film score to accompany existing images, and music videos. The focus of this category is on the high-quality production of the soundtrack which connects language, sound and music in creative and exciting ways.
Fictional/ non-fictional productions, experimental films, documentary video productions, short films and image films/motion pictures (also animated), music videos, advertising clips, TV Formats, live, studio and TV productions, 360° videos
Interactive applications for mobile, internet, DVDs, terminals, games, and audiovisual installations;narrative, cinematic works with interactive navigation, games and internet sites that stand out through their extraordinary information architecture or design.
Any project is eligible if it fits one of the six categories listed before. The requirements are the same as for every other category. Three projects are nominated for the Alumni Projects category and will be presented at the Golden Wire media award ceremony at the St. Pölten UAS on 28 November 2023.
